The 1% merely need to understand: They are only rocks on the ocean shore. We the turbulent 99% ocean waters are crashing upon them, peaceful but insistent wave after wave, with a constant erosion.
We the 99% do not need violence. We need peace. We need to be authentic about who we are, and unrelenting in our quest to be heard. That’s where our strength will come from. Our crashing upon the rocky shore happens with our loud words and our loud shows of solidarity. The Occupy movement is an act of love, though it may be angry. It’s a deep, hopeful call for change. Only through nonviolent direct action will we maintain the dignity of our movement.
The rocks should not be destroyed, but embraced, and eventually they become part of us.
