Appreciate What You Have

August 20th, 2011 · No Comments · Life

We get hung up on what we don’t have, whether it’s a material thing or immaterial. We know that our lives are usually the result of a series of choices we made, both good and bad, but we forget that if we were to undo some of the”bad” choices, we might miss out on some of the good aspects of our current lives.

Rather than wishing to undo the mistakes, or to choose a different path “knowing then what I know now,” it makes more sense to have what you know now shape the path that’s lying in front of your feet.

I would re-do every mistake, turn down every opportunity I had, if that were the only way I could still keep those elements of my life that I wouldn’t trade for anything.

I am thankful for those parts of my life, including the people who make those parts of my life so worthwhile.
